The Storehouse Products
All of The Storehouse products are made with the finest ingredients possible and are locally sourced and manufactured. No compromise has been spared in delivering to you a quality product. And what’s more, these products deliver more than just exceptional taste with many of our ingredients traditionally favoured by Māori for their medicinal and wellbeing value.
Some of our traditional heritage ingredients include:
Kawakawa: a shrub with aromatic heart-shaped leaves that is found along coastal cliffs, sand dunes and lowland forests in New Zealand. The fruit, bark and leaves of the kawakawa are all thought to all have wellbeing properties. Alongside its general use for wellbeing, kawakawa can be made into a tea by steeping the leaves in hot water.
Karengo: a type of an edible seaweed found growing on intertidal rocks on exposed New Zealand coasts. Closely related to Japanese nori and welsh laver, karengo is high in protein, selenium, iodine and a raft of other minerals and vitamins.
Horopito: Horopito is a small tree with light green elliptical leaves that are splotched with red, and have a hot peppery taste when chewed or sucked.
